The Coach
Bryan Collins was named Stony Brook's defensive coordinator in January 2023, taking on responsibility for all aspects of the team's defense in his third season with Coach Priore's staff. Before this role, Collins had a distinguished career as the head coach at LIU Post for 23 seasons, where he became the program's all-time winningest coach with 162 wins, leading the team to six NCAA tournament appearances and eight Northeast 10 Conference championships. His accolades include seven Northeast 10 Coach of the Year awards and three undefeated seasons. Collins also served as the Director of Athletics at LIU Post from 2006 to 2017, contributing to the department's success and overseeing the football program's transition to Division I in 2019. He began his coaching journey at LIU Post in 1991 and has held various coaching positions, including defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, showcasing his expertise and dedication to the sport.
