In this talk, I will share how we use a rules based approach instead of a playbook to teach our players how to defend effectively. This method helps them learn faster, play smoother, and have more fun. I will also discuss some of the key rules and principles that guide our defensive system.

Coach Raffle is currently the Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator for George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Before taking the helm at Mason, Raffle spent 2 seasons as the Defensive Coordinator for the D.C. Divas (Women’s Professional Football), where he still serves as a Defensive Consultant. Coach Raffle has also spent several years coaching men’s semi-pro and high school football in Virginia as both a Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. Raffle also spent more than 13 seasons coaching youth football and is very excited to have an opportunity to give back!
