Dave Aranda is entering his fifth year as head coach of the Baylor Bears football team for the 2024 NCAA Division I FBS season. The Bears, representing Baylor University in the Big 12 Conference, will play their home games at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas. Despite a challenging 3-9 season, Aranda is set to lead the team forward, albeit with significant changes. This includes the departure of offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes, with Aranda expected to take on a more hands-on role in defensive play-calling, drawing from his successful stints at Wisconsin and LSU before joining Baylor.

The focus for Baylor moving forward includes investing more in NIL opportunities for players and retaining a strong core of young talent, building on the experience gained by playing numerous freshmen in the 2023 season. Aranda's coaching tenure has seen highs like the historic 12-2 season in 2021, where Baylor achieved its highest ranking and won the Big 12 title. However, recent seasons have presented challenges, with the team aiming to bounce back and regain its winning form in the upcoming year and beyond.
