Dennis Long joined Monmouth University’s football coaching staff in spring 2022 as the Special Teams Quality Control, Assistant Long Snappers/Kickers/Punters Coach. By 2023, he had advanced to the role of Special Teams Coach and was promoted to Special Teams Coordinator in February 2024. Under his leadership, TJ Speight received a Third Team All-CAA award from Phil Steele/Draft Scout following the 2023 season. In 2022, punter Ryan Kost earned First Team All-CAA honors and led the FCS with an average of 48.1 yards per punt. Kost and long snapper Kent Vines were also recognized by Phil Steele/Draft Scout, receiving First and Third Team honors, respectively.

Before joining Monmouth, Long spent four years at East Stroudsburg University. He served as Special Teams Coordinator and Linebackers Coach. He also coached five All-PSAC East selections, two All-Region honorees, and AP All-America Second Team kicker Jordan Walters. Before that, Long was the Special Teams Coordinator and Assistant Offensive Line Coach at Sayreville High School in 2018, contributing to an 11-1 record and a No. 8 ranking in New Jersey. A 2017 East Stroudsburg graduate with a degree in Political Science, Long played two seasons as a long snapper for the Warriors after transferring from Nassau Community College.
