Coach Gary Patterson began his coaching career at Kansas state as an assistant to then head coach, Jim Dickey. He then became the defensive coordinator at the University of New Mexico. He then went to TCU, where he now remains the head coach. Some awards Coach Patterson has reciever are 2× AFCA Coach of the Year, 2× AP Coach of the Year, Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year, 2× Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year, George Munger Award, Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award, 2× SN Coach of the Year, & 2× Walter Camp Coach of the Year.
