Joe Gerbino is currently in his debut season at Bethune-Cookman, holding the roles of Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach.

Prior to joining B-CU, Gerbino had a remarkable 2022 season at Utica University. During this season, the team achieved a historic milestone by setting a new school record for wins and securing a spot in the NCAA playoffs for the first time ever. Under Coach Gerbino's guidance, the offense broke school records for points, touchdowns, and all-purpose yards for the second time during his tenure. Recognizing his exceptional coaching abilities, Gerbino was honored as the 2022 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) D3 Assistant Coach of the Year. He notably mentored two standout offensive players, Nate Palmer and Braeden Zenelovic. Palmer set new school records for receiving yards and touchdowns in a season and received accolades such as AFCA 1st team All-American, Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Offensive Player of the Year, and Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year. Zenelovic also made his mark by breaking school records for passing yards, passing touchdowns, passing efficiency, and average yards per play in a season, earning him recognition as second team All-ECAC and Empire 8.

Aside from his coaching achievements, Gerbino has actively contributed to the football community. He served on the AFCA D3 Assistant Coaches Committee in 2021, participated in the NFL Coaches Academy in 2020, delivered speeches at the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic, and gained recognition as one of the youngest Offensive Coordinators in college football at the age of 24 in 2017.

Gerbino's academic background is equally impressive, having earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Utica University in 2015 and completing his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from Utica in 2022.

Originally from Belleville, NJ, Gerbino has deep roots in football, having played at Utica where he excelled as a two-time Captain, Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year, and Pioneer Award recipient.
