The Coach
Prior to Penn State, Justin Lustig is the Assistant Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator for Vanderbilt. He began his career coaching at Christopher Newport as the defensive backs coach in 2001. In 2003, he became the defensive backs coach for Villinova before returning to Newport in 2004. In 2006, coach Lustig became the special teams coordinator for Eastern Illinois. In 2009 he left for the same role at Louisiana Lafayette. From 2011-2015, Coach Lustig was the special teams coordinator and running backs coach for Ball State. After a one year stint as the head coach at Edinboro, he spent the next 4 years as the special teams coordinator and assistant head coach at Syracuse. Coach Lustig has been in his current position at Vandy since 2021, and was nominated for the Broyles Award as the nation's top assistant coach.
