Kevin Swift - Rural Team Building Part 1

PART 1

These are extremely important because they are basically the basis for your entire team. The football handbook does not produce outcomes but will help you and your team be on the same page and motivate everyone. The mission statement needs to be one of the first things you develop into your team. You will run your team based on the mission statement and everyone needs to be on board with that. He even shows off his mission statement for his team! If you are a coach who wants to learn more about the football handbook and mission statements, then this course is a must. 

Next, he breaks down the Roles and Responsibilities for both the Head Coach and the Players. For the head coach, a few of the responsibilities he points out are: be available to players and opportunities, spare no expenses, and make football more visible and high profile. For the players, a few of the responsibilities he points out are: it takes everyone to make a championship team, team first, and follow the rules and program of the school. He then details out the importance of the Football Office. This needs to be open to your coaching staff and players and should be a friendly environment, not a harsh one like you would see on TV. You want it to be open before school, after school, and during lunch when possible.
