Marcus McLin began his coaching journey at UW-Whitewater in 2021, taking on the role of assistant coach for the football team, specifically working with wide receivers. Before coaching, McLin made a name for himself as a standout player for the Warhawks, earning two All-American honors as a defensive back and excelling as a return specialist. He was instrumental in three national championship victories and was recognized with All-WIAC honors three times, culminating in first-team accolades in his final two seasons. After graduating, McLin transitioned to coaching, starting at the high school level and eventually moving to Division II powerhouse Minnesota Duluth, where he contributed significantly to the development of defensive backs and served as a recruiting coordinator.

McLin's coaching career began after his successful college football tenure at UW-Whitewater, where he now returns as a coach. He honed his coaching skills at the high school level, progressing to roles like assistant defensive coordinator and defensive coordinator while mentoring several standout players. McLin then transitioned to coaching at Minnesota Duluth, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the defensive backs and contributing to the team's success. His experience as a player and coach has provided him with valuable insights and expertise to contribute effectively to UW-Whitewater's football program.
