Mark Washington has recently been promoted to assistant head coach/defensive coordinator for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. His outstanding performance in the 2021 season led the Tiger-Cats to boast the league's top-ranked run defense, holding opposing teams to the lowest rushing yards, rushing yards per game, rushes over 10 yards, and rushes over 20 yards. Before this role, Washington spent 11 seasons with the BC Lions, serving in various capacities including defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. During his tenure, he mentored more than 18 West Division All-Stars and 11 CFL All-Stars in the defensive back position.
