Mike Leach Career Breakdown

They call him a Pirate, but perhaps a better name for him would be Mad Genius. Leach was on the ground floor of the Air Raid creation, even coming up with the name. He was at every stop with Hal Mumme from Iowa Wesleyan, Valdosta, to Kentucky. Then he went out on his own first as an Offensive Coordinator at Oklahoma then as the Head Coach at Texas Tech before leaving and eventually landing in the Palouse of Pullman, WA to coach the Washington State Cougars. The one thing that cannot be misunderstood about Leach is that he puts up numbers both on the scoreboards and in the Passing Yards Column. Leach has been a Two-Time National Coach of the Year while resetting the record books at every stop. Out of the 50 Most Productive Passing Seasons, Leach’s Quarterbacks have accounted for 11 of those seasons.
