The Coach
Coach Dante Bartee is a rising defensive coach with experience at multiple levels of football, including Power Five programs, Division I staffs, Division II, NAIA, and the high school level. Known for his detailed approach to defensive development and film analysis, Bartee has built a diverse coaching background working with linebackers, defensive backs, and defensive scouting operations.
Bartee currently works with the football program at Oregon, where he contributes on the defensive side of the ball after previously serving as a defensive analyst within the program.
Prior to Oregon, Bartee served as the defensive coordinator at Ottawa University, where he led the defensive unit and gained experience calling and organizing defensive schemes.
Before his time at Ottawa, Bartee was part of the staff at Southern Miss, serving as a lead defensive analyst. In that role he worked closely with the defensive coordinator and assisted with the development of the inside linebackers while contributing to defensive breakdowns, scouting reports, and game planning.
Earlier in his career, Bartee worked as a graduate assistant at the University of California, Berkeley during the 2019 season. While at Cal, he assisted with scout team operations, linebacker development, analytics, and recruiting evaluations.
Before Cal, Bartee coached at Upper Iowa University in 2018, where he worked with both inside and outside linebackers while also assisting with special teams and recruiting. During that season he helped coach two NSIC All-Conference linebackers.
Bartee began his coaching career at the high school level at Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona, where he coached from 2014–2018 while attending Arizona State University. During his time at Perry, he coached running backs, defensive backs, and outside linebackers, and spent multiple seasons coordinating the defense and special teams.
Across each stop in his career, Bartee has built a reputation for his work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to help players understand the technical and strategic aspects of defensive football.
