Overview and Philosophy of the Dordt Gun Triple Offense
by Joel Penner
Description
This course provides a complete overview of the Dordt Gun Triple Offense, outlining the philosophy, structure, and organizational principles that drive the system. Coach Joel Penner explains how the offense is built from the ground up—starting with core priorities and progressing into formation structure, run game organization, and complementary pass concepts.
The course details how the gun triple framework is structured to maintain clarity, physicality, and execution. Coach Penner walks through base formations, run game construction, and how each concept ties back to the overall offensive identity. Game clips are included to demonstrate how the system functions in live situations, highlighting blocking techniques, perimeter responsibilities, and quarterback decision-making.
Special emphasis is placed on offensive line perspective, perimeter blocking strategy, and defining position skill requirements within the scheme. The course also introduces how the pass game complements the run structure to create balance without sacrificing identity.
By the end, you’ll gain a clear understanding of how the Dordt Gun Triple Offense is organized, taught, and executed within a disciplined, cohesive offensive framework.
