Rocco DiMeco: Linebackers Coach & Special Teams Coordinator at the University of Delaware

Rocco DiMeco joined the University of Delaware's football staff in January 2023 as the linebackers coach and was promoted to special teams coordinator in 2024. His coaching journey spans multiple programs, where he has developed a reputation for building strong defensive units and special teams. Here are some highlights of his career:

• University of Delaware (2023–Present)

  • Linebackers coach and special teams coordinator.

  • Contributed to the Blue Hens’ second consecutive FCS Playoff appearance.

  • Mentored linebacker Jackson Taylor, who earned All-CAA First Team honors and All-American recognition.

• Long Island University (2022)

  • Special teams coordinator and linebackers coach.

  • Defense led the NEC in interceptions and ranked third in sacks.

  • Produced two All-NEC honorees, punter Will Lynch and placekicker Michael Coney.

• Winona State University (2018–2021)

  • Developed multiple All-NSIC players.

  • Helped returner Jake Balliu rank fourth nationally in combined kick returns in 2021.

  • Mentored linebacker Clay Schueffner, who earned All-NSIC First Team honors and was second in solo tackles in the NSIC.

• Defensive and Special Teams Expertise

  • Known for creating aggressive, turnover-driven defenses.

  • Developed special teams units that produced All-Conference honors and key contributors.
