In 2023, Crook led Virginia Tech's offensive line to achieve the 22nd-ranked rushing offense in the country, averaging 189.8 yards per game and ranking fourth in the ACC. Under his guidance, redshirt freshman offensive tackle Xavier Chaplin earned Freshman All-American honors from College Football News. Crook's extensive coaching career spans three decades, with notable tenures at Cincinnati, West Virginia, Stanford, Harvard, Illinois, and South Dakota. During his five seasons at Cincinnati (2017-21), he helped the Bearcats win back-to-back AAC titles and reach the College Football Playoff, coaching a standout offensive line that included three All-AAC First Team members in 2021.

Crook's offensive lines have consistently produced strong performances. At Cincinnati, his units contributed to an offense that set school records in touchdowns and points scored, ranking sixth nationally in yards per play in 2021. His coaching career includes significant achievements at Stanford, where he was part of a Pac-12 championship team, and Harvard, where he coached eight players to first-team All-Ivy honors. Crook's experience spans multiple conferences and levels, including the Pac-12, Big 12, Ivy League, and Big 10, showcasing his ability to develop successful offensive lines across diverse programs.
