Scott Leech is in his third year as the head strength and conditioning coach at Rhode Island, having been promoted to this role in July 2021 after starting as an assistant coach in February 2020. At Rhode Island, he oversees strength and conditioning programs for football, women’s tennis, and women’s track & field, along with managing all areas of strength and conditioning for the department. Before joining Rhode Island, Leech served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Merrimack College, where he worked with various sports teams and coordinated undergraduate internship programs. He holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Reflexive Performance Reset, and American Red Cross for CPR/AED/First Aid. Leech earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Springfield College, where he also played football and received academic honors.
