Tim Shields has been part of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football coaching staff for seven seasons, transitioning to the role of run offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in 2022 after previously working with tight ends and offensive tackles. His tenure has seen successes in the rushing game, with the Warhawks leading the WIAC in rushing in multiple seasons and earning accolades for tight ends under his guidance. Shields contributed to UW-Whitewater's achievements, including a WIAC championship and national runner-up finish in 2019, where tight end Jared Zausch received All-WIAC honorable mention. Additionally, Shields was part of the coaching staff that led the Warhawks to top rankings in rushing offense, scoring offense, and total offense in previous seasons.

Before joining UW-Whitewater, Shields coached at various institutions, including Washington-St. Louis, Illinois College, and Waldorf College, focusing on positions like defensive line and running backs while also handling video coordination. His background as a collegiate offensive lineman and his academic achievements, including a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, complement his coaching expertise and commitment to player development. Shields' multifaceted experience, from coaching in different roles to his legal education, reflects his diverse skill set and dedication to both football and academic pursuits.
