True Zone Coverage

Do you carry true zone coverage calls in your playbook? They make for a great changeup to man calls or some of the man-match or zone match calls that may also be apart of your menu. 

Does your team lack the ability to run in man coverage? I know I have had teams that covered better with good zone eyes vs trying to run with people in man coverage.

Do you prefer some old school, plain Jane, country / spot drop zone coverage to some of the more complicated and more difficult to learn schemes? Even though the assignments are easier to explain the kids may need help seeing how different route concepts match up to the zone call.

Tired of getting picked on with pick routes on the goal-line?  How about letting those guys cross and sitting pretty on that flat route to the front pylon?

True Zone Coverages can be a small or big part of your defense. I created this video to serve as a visual example to show my team in the classroom of how we squeeze the soft spots of zone coverage, defend route runners that enter our zone and pass them off to our neighbors.

In this course you will find a video detailing our true zone coverage Cover 4, and two 8 man coverages from our odd front that we call 5 Up and 5 Down. These are some of my favorite calls that have been good to us on just about every down and distance. Not only is there playart for each call but I have also included a Madden style creation of different route concepts vs the calls.
