Walt Stewart is the Defensive Line Coach at Temple University. n his first season with the Owls, Stewart  got the most out of a unit that proved to be deep and talented. Quincy Roche stole the headlines becoming the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Along the way he tied the school record with 13.0 sacks, and became the AAC's all-time sack leader with 26.0. Roche was not the only standout as senior DEs Dana Levine, Zack Mesday and DeAndre Kelly recorded their best seasons. Among the inside tackles, Ifeanyi Maijeh earned AAC first team honors. He also coached back-to-back All-American defensive end Sutton Smith at NIU. At Eastern Kentucky, Stewart’s defensive line racked up 53 total sacks in his two seasons. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant defensive line coach at Tennessee from 2013-2014. At Tennessee, he helped coach a pair of All-SEC defensive linemen on the team that went on to play in the 2014 TaxSlayer Bowl.
