The Coach
Coach Eric Miller most recently served as the Wide Receiver coach for Benedict College, a Division II HBCU located in Columbia, South Carolina.
During his coaching tenure he has coached 2 college All-Americans at the WR position, as well as 5 high school All-Americans (including 1 at the WR position).
Prior to Benedict, Coach Miller served one season at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Ga. During his year with the program, the offense finished ranked 12th in the country in total offense and sixth offensively in points per game. Miller was responsible for the development of 1st-team All-American Torenio Davis.
Prior to GMC, he served two years as wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator at Kell High School in Marietta, Ga. During his time, he was a part of two of the most potent offenses in school history. The 2018 team scored the third-most points in school history, and the 2017 team scored 375 points, an average over 34 points per game, which is second-best all-time.
Prior to that, Coach Miller served as the passing game coordinator for the Tucker Tigers, located just outside of Atlanta. Miller helped rejuvenate the Tiger program by helping them get back to the state championship game for the first time in three years (their third appearance in the last six). He worked with the wide receivers, serving as passing game coordinator and directing the special teams. Typically a heavy run team, Miller and the Tigers were able to produce the first 1,000-yard receiver in the team’s storied history. All-State wideout Joshua Vann finished the season with 63 catches for over 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2016.
Before returning to Tucker High School, Coach Miller spent two seasons coaching on the Division I level, coaching on both sides of the ball for FCS and Big South member, Presbyterian College.
During his second season with the Blue Hose, Miller was in charge of molding a very young receiving corps, one that featured three freshmen, inlcuding eventual 3-time All Big South selection, DaShawn Davis.
Before coaching in college, Coach Miller served his first stint with the Tucker program. In three seasons as an assistant at Tucker High School in Tucker, Ga., he worked with the defensive backs, wide receivers and special teams. He helped the Tigers to a cumulative 39-4 record, two undefeated regular seasons, two trips to the state championship game, including winning one in 2011. The 2013 squad also boasted a state-leading 32 interceptions and a DeKalb County-leading 39 turnovers. The 2011 team went undefeated for the first time in school history (15-0).
Coach Miller played wide receiver at Princeton and Georgia State before graduating from LaGrange College in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He joined LaGrange while returning home to help his family and helped the Panthers to a conference championship and its first and only playoff berth.
