Prior to Tennessee, William Inge, was the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Washington, rejoined head coach Kalen DeBoer's staff after serving in similar roles at Fresno State. In 2022, Inge played a pivotal role in Washington's defensive success, notably improving the team's rushing defense rankings significantly. During his tenure at Fresno State, he orchestrated remarkable improvements in the Bulldogs' defensive performance, elevating their rankings across various defensive categories. Inge has a wealth of coaching experience, including stints in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills and successful tenures at schools like Indiana, Cincinnati, and San Diego State. He also had a notable playing career at Iowa before transitioning into coaching.
