XFL Style KOR

Description

This course will detail my experience with the XFL style return rules that are now being implemented in the NFL. I go over the development of my system by sharing my playbook drawings along with both practice / game film. I'll discuss techniques, schemes, game planning, and how this play could look now that the best players in the world will be executing it on the biggest stage in football. The Coach

I served as the KOR coordinator for the Leipzig Kings of the European League of Football (ELF). Before the NFL implemented the new KOR rules for the upcoming 2024 season, the ELF was the only active league using the rule since it was dropped by the newly formed UFL. I am one of a handful of coaches who have ever coordinated this unit in a live professional game. While active, the Leipzig Kings KOR unit was in the top five in the league in average yards per return. Our returner, Devan Burrell, finished the season as the ELF Special Teams player of the year. Throughout my career, I have also coached a variety of positions at six different colleges across FBS, FCS, D2, and D3.

It's not often that a game as storied and played, watched, and analyzed as football has the opportunity to change a fundamental aspect for the betterment of play. This rule needs to be experimented with, studied, and put into practice.
