The Coach
Coach Celso Gonzales graduated from Knox City HS in 1978. He lettered in football, basketball, tennis and golf (4 years). He attended and graduated from the University of Texas @ Austin '84 with a Biology major/ Kinesiology & Health minor. He started his coaching career in 1986 with McAllen ISD at Travis Middle School in McAllen, Texas. In 1989, he became Head Golf Coach at McAllen Memorial HS and has been there for the past 32 years.
He is currently married for 30 years to Carla Sue Walk, a teacher with McAllen ISD. Together, they have raised three sons, Ben(29), Seth(26) and Ross(21). He currenty resides in Edinburg, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley.
