Emeka Okonkwo- FBISD Social Worker
Emeka Okonkwo is a Michigan native and is no stranger to hard work. Emeka became a father at a young age and that moment helped fuel the person he is today. Emeka received his bachelor’s degree in social work from Wayne State University in Detroit. He then went on to receive his master’s degree in social work from the University of Toledo. Helping people to live a better life is Emeka’s passion. He believes in everyone’s ability to overcome obstacles and achieve goals. Equipping himself professionally has added great value to his practical experience. Emeka is a licensed LMSW and is a certified Trauma and Resilience Practitioner and Sport Social Worker. Emeka’s love for sports led him to also become a certified personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach and a nutrition coach. Emeka has been coaching and working with youth for over 20 years. Over this time frame he has worked with both college and professional level athletes and has worked with over 500 kids some of which were at risk. Emeka’s heart for youth doesn’t just stop professionally but transcends into his personal life as well. He has 8 years of experience as a foster parent. Emeka understands his role in helping youth and organizational leaders thrive. He is passionate about it and looks forward to reaching more people.
