McGough comes to HPISD from Austin ISD's Anderson High School, where she taught chemistry and biology and coached the girls’ soccer team to four post-season playoff runs, most recently to the 2021 regional quarterfinals.
McGough earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Texas, where she was a four-year womens soccer letterman and senior captain. While a student at West Brook High School in Beaumont, she was named girls soccer district Newcomer of the Year, and Most Valuable Player for three consecutive years.
