Ryan is the Author of the Sprinter’s Compendium, Member of Missouri Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (MTCCCA) Hall of Fame 2021, MTCCCA Coach of the Year 2021, former President of the MTCCCA, and has a Master’s in Positive Psychology from the University of Missouri.
Coach Banta is a successful high school coach. His athletes have achieved 122 school records (FR, JV, Varsity), 6 top-five finishes at the state championships, 6 district championships, 6 district runner-up finishes, 6 conference team titles, 222 state semi-finalist (sectionals), 157 state qualifiers, 2 state records (3200 and 4×800), 19 national ranked events, 147 All-state Medalists, 11 state champions, 18 runner-up performances, and 2 Gatorade athletes of the year all done in a single-gender at Parkway Central High School.
