Lecture Title: Progression Perfection

Coach Adrian Smith started her high school coaching career at Bangs High School (2A) as the head coach from 2006-2008. During her time there, the volleyball program made the playoffs both years. She then had the opportunity to serve as 1st assistant coach from 2008-2011 for a high caliber volleyball program under the leadership of Coach Floyd Rogers (retired) at Cleburne High School (5A) where they made deep playoff runs every year. From there she went on to serve has the head coach for New Caney High School (5A) where she meets her husband, Andy Smith, who is an Offensive Coordinator in the sport of football at the high school level. Coach Smith and her husband then traveled to East Texas to Henderson High School (3A), where she served as the girl’s athletic coordinator. In 2017 she took over as Head Volleyball Coach at Gregory-Portland High School. As head coach at Gregory-Portland the WildCats have had 2 undefeated District Championships (2019 & 2021), 1 Co-District Championship (2018), two 2nd Place finishes in District (2017, 2020), and have had 4 Regional Tournament Appearances (2017-2019 Consecutive, Appearance in 2021). In 5 years, Coach Smith has been awarded All South Texas Coach of the Year (2017), Coastal Bend Coaches Association All-Star Coach (2018), and District 29-5A Coach of the Year (2018, 2019, 2021), and the Wildcats have posted over 170 wins with less than 35 losses. Coach Adrian Smith is a graduate of Tarleton State University in Stephenville. She and her husband, Coach Andy Smith, have been married for 9 years, and are the proud parents of an amazing Toddler Gemma Lou Smith, and 2 beautiful English Bulldogs Watson (6) and Winnie (5).
