Dani Busboom Kelly is the Head Coach of the University of Nebraska Volleyball Team, returning to lead her alma mater in 2024 after a record-setting tenure at the University of Louisville.

Named the 2021 AVCA National Coach of the Year, Busboom Kelly transformed Louisville volleyball into a national powerhouse. After taking the helm in 2016, she led the Cardinals to their first-ever NCAA Championship match in 2022, back-to-back Final Four appearances, multiple ACC titles, and consistent Top 5 national rankings. Her innovative training methods and unmatched leadership established Louisville as one of the premier programs in the country.

As a player, Busboom Kelly starred at Nebraska, where she captained the Huskers and made a pivotal switch from setter to libero in 2006. She remains one of only two players in program history to rank among the all-time leaders in both digs (1,281, second) and assists (2,873, eighth). During her four-year starting career under Coach John Cook, she helped Nebraska to a 124-10 record, three Big 12 championships, two NCAA finals appearances, and the 2006 national title. That same year, she set the school's single-season digs record with 580 and was widely regarded as the Big 12’s top libero.

Following her playing career, Busboom Kelly trained with the U.S. Women’s National Team, coached for USA Volleyball’s Select A2 Program, and served in various coaching and broadcasting roles before becoming one of the most respected leaders in college volleyball.

She now brings her elite coaching acumen and passion for player development back to Lincoln as the first female head coach in Nebraska volleyball history. Dani lives in Nebraska with her husband, former Husker football player Lane Kelly, and their son, Boone.
