Build a Roster/Depth Chart:
Create a new Google Spreadsheet or Excel file.
Fill out the roster with the following information:
Name, Age/Class, Height, Weight.
Using your staff, next fill out critical athletic information.
Add columns for 40yd sprint, shuttle run, vertical jump, squat max, bench max, clean max.
Hold a "testing week" to fill out as much information as accurately as possible.
(have the same person timing 40's for everybody - preferrably a track coach if you have one)
Staff Meeting: Depth Chart
Start a new spreadsheet with all offensive and defensive positions on it.
Fill it out with your best depth chart predictions. Do not talk about potential, this is a "where we are now document". Default upperclassmen up if they have not been clearly beaten out.
Example:
Wide Receiver:
1. Jim Smith
2. Paul Jones
