NBA Europe Skills Trainer NBA Basketball Without Borders Clinician Elite Athletes (EA) is a grassroots and youth basketball academy and training facility based in Antwerp, Belgium. EA was founded by Joerik Michiels and Olivier Goetgeluck in 2010 with the goal of providing youth basketball players the chance to develop their games in a community-oriented environment; remaining with similar coaches, players and methods throughout the duration of their elementary and high-school careers. Unlike other academies, EA focused on specializing the roles of each coach and trainer; designating positions for shooting, strength and conditioning, tactical, and academic coaches, among many others. In doing so, Elite Athletes has remained innovative and detail-oriented to a degree that their competitors have not, be that locally in Europe, or globally. Today, EA’s Elite Academy encompasses 9 teams across 7 age divisions, frequently seeing their players compete for local post-secondary teams, North American colleges and universities, national programs and professional teams all around the world.
