This course explains the playcalling system, the formation system, and advantages of the Gun Rocket Sweep over the Gun Jet/Fly Sweep, the actual details of the Gun Rocket Sweep will be shared in the Rocket-Full Pull, Rocket-Gut Mirror, and Tailback Rocket Courses, this course lays the groundwork of the system. This course will also go into detail of how to use wristbands for no-huddle and for linemen rules. Included are all the motions, shifts, and how cadence is used as a weapon in the offense. This course explains the "WHY" of the offensive system.

Rocket Sweep: Full Pull is the FASTEST Gun run scheme in football and puts tremendous strain on edge defenders to stop the sweep! It is a flowside, full-pull scheme, with all playside linemen leading the sweep. It is the base run in this SYSTEMATIC OFFENSE that sets up the entire offense. It can also be added into any Gun run scheme: ZONE, PIN & PULL, GAP SCHEME to attack the perimeter, create edge conflict, and compliment your off-tackle, inside, and misdirection run schemes. The sweep action also forces defenses to adjust to the perimeter, opening up throwing lanes for the passing game.

Rocket Sweep: Mirrored with Gut is TWO-PLAYS-IN-1 to the defense, combining the FASTEST Gun run scheme in football with a TRAP-AWAY scheme that puts linebackers in conflict between reading guards and reacting to the rocket sweep. Any hesitation in pursuing rocket sweep and the LB's will be too late and the trap-away scheme is what creates this hesitation. Combined with the FttF GUT scheme (misdirection inside trap) each play puts the linebackers in conflict and makes each play even better. Tailback Rocket Sweep: Rocket sweep is the FASTEST Gun run scheme in football and puts tremendous strain on edge defenders to stop the sweep! The Tailback Gun Rocket Sweep helps feature your Tailback on the perimeter using the Full Pull or Gut Mirrored Rcoket blocking schemes. The Tailback motion to Rocket also sets up Tailback motion Down, Trap, Counter, and Play Action Passing. The Tailback Rocket can be run to a trips set or to a 2x2 Spread side. This perimeter run scheme will be valuable in any Gun based offense to attack the perimeter.

The Faster than the Fly Down Scheme is the main flow-side off-tackle scheme along with traditional Power. This is not your traditional Down Scheme, some adjustments based on running it out of the gun have been made to make it more effective by staying solid on the playside and pulling the backside guard instead. The flow of rocket sweep softens the edge making it easier to kick-out playside edge defenders. The timing from gun meshes up better pulling the backside guard. This play can be run by your slots/wings, tailback, and quarterback making it true 11 on 11 football. With the development of an RPO scheme blended in, this really puts guard and backfield reading linebackers in conflict.

Faster than the Fly utilizes two inside trap scemes, one with the motion (Trap) and one away from the motion with misdirection (Gut). In this course the flow-side Trap is digrammed with plenty of film to see that you can run inside trap effectively from gun with the help of motion to slow down the linebackers. When you see inside LBs leaning to the rocket motion you can start to attack with the Trap very effectively.

Utilizing the Tailback in the Gun Rocket Counter game allows you to use the non-blocking slot to formation the defense. In this system we call those players, bonus players. When running quarterback counter you have 2-bonus players with the tailback and the slot that is not in motion. This allows you to use many formations to manipulate the defense. Also, when you run your quarterback it creates a true 11 on 11 situation. This is extremely effective when defenses play Cover-1 and Cover-0 trying to run a defender with rocket motion. It is also good against teams the stem linebackers or try to rotate safeties to the rocket motion side. You will see how the influence of the rocket sweep motion can turn your simple quick game slant, hitch, speed out, or fade schemes into big plays by moving defenders a step or two out of position. Because of the speed of the rocket sweep to the perimeter the defense has to adjust to stop it and when they do, they often get themselves out of position to defend the pass. Safeties out of position by a couple steps opens up deep completions with the fade. Linebackers running with motion opens up wide passing lanes for slants and hitches. Every pass scheme in this system will always come with an explanation of how to protect the quartertback.
