The Coach
Chris Bertrand has a distinguished career in college coaching, marked by notable achievements and impactful contributions. Beginning as an All-Conference player at Louisiana College, he transitioned to coaching, spending seven years at LSU Shreveport, progressing from a graduate assistant to pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.
During this time, he also served as the pitching coach for the Alexandria Aces in 2010. In 2013, Bertrand assumed the head coaching role at the University of Texas at Tyler, achieving a commendable 119-69 record before joining Northwestern State University as an assistant coach in 2017. Throughout his six years with NSU, Bertrand's versatility and expertise have been instrumental, culminating in his promotion to head coach in 2024.
Bertrand's dedication to the sport extends beyond coaching, with professional experience as an associate scout for the Kansas City Royals, and active membership in esteemed coaching associations.
