Zeljko Obradovic, born on 9 March 1960 in Cacak , is a player and coach Serbian of basketball .
As a player, he is a Yugoslav international and won a title of world champion in the 1990 edition, and a silver
medal in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul 1.
He became one of the best coaches in the history of basketball: in 25 years, he won eleven European titles,
twelve national titles and eight national cups. Among his European trophies are nine Euroleagues , which makes
him the coach with the best record in this competition. These nine titles are also obtained with five different
clubs.
In 1991, he coached his Partizan 6 club, which he led to victory in the Euroleague with players like Predrag
Danilovic and Aleksandar Dorclevic . This victory is all the more deserving of the fact that, due to the tragic
events taking place in Yugoslavia, FIBA has decided to play all the matches of clubs of the former Yugoslavia
outside the country. Partizan will therefore play its "home" matches in Spain 7 .
In 1994, he won a new Euroleague with the Spanish club Joventut de Badalone 6 . Then the following year, Real
Madrid 6 led him to the supreme European title 8 . He won a second European title with this one in 1997 with
the Saporta Cup.
After a stint in Italy with the Benetton Treviso with a new Saporta Cup in 1999, he joined Greece and
the Panathinaikos of Athens 6 . He led Dejan Bodiroga and Zeljko Rebraca to a victory in the final oven of
Salonika 9 . After a final lost in 2001 against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, he participated in his third consecutive final
against Kinder Bologna who plays at home. It is a new victory, its fifth, won with four different clubs 10 . He
then becomes the most successful coach in this competition.
