Description

Lock Right 2-3 Zone Defense by Tyler Whitcomb only $15

We start the 2-3 Defense on the left side and will be in a regular 2-3 zone with bump down procedures anytime the ball goes to the left. We slide the defense over to the left and we leave the right side slightly open and trap ever pass to the right that is on the wing, short corner, or deep corner. We stunt any pass to the middle or out past the Volleyball lines with our designated trappers the 3 and 4. The only time the 3 and 4 don’t trap is when the ball is in the short corner, then the 4 and 5 trap. The 5 always has to deny the middle and if it goes there, he needs to help stunt and do whatever it takes to get it out. The 1 and 2 are on the right side to push the ball in transition and to be quick on the flight of the ball. We start the trapping area from the Volleyball to the baseline with the free throw lane on the right side being the area that the ball gets trapped in.

The reason we trap on the right side is because when the ball gets trapped and they have nowhere to go, they have to go to their weak hand to dribble out of the trap. Also the highest pct. 3 against a 2-3 is the left wing. I would have lines set up to show the trapping areas on the court.
