Coach Mike Neighbors has coached 79 teams across high school, college, and professional basketball, including roles connected to the WNBA. Known for building programs on clarity, accountability, and decisive decision-making.
Mike Neighbors joins the Los Angeles Sparks coaching staff after 23 seasons in women’s college basketball, including head-coaching stints at Washington and Arkansas. He led Washington to its first-ever Final Four in 2016 and compiled a 98–41 record there, with three straight NCAA Tournament appearances. At Arkansas (2017–2025), his teams delivered marquee wins (including over Baylor and UConn) and the program’s best SEC finish (10–6) in 2019–20. Across 12 head-coaching seasons, Neighbors has 246 wins—a .615 winning percentage, ranking No. 1 among Power 5 head coaches with 12 or fewer seasons
