The Coach

Adam Clark joined the Lumberjacks as the defensive coordinator in December 2023, marking his first season with the team in 2024. With nearly two decades of coaching experience, Clark has contributed to eight conference championship teams throughout his college coaching and playing career. Before his current role, he spent five seasons at Angelo State University as the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach, leading the Rams to a 38-10 record, their first Lone Star Conference (LSC) championship in nearly 40 years, and consecutive playoff appearances. Under Clark's leadership, Angelo State's defense consistently ranked at the top of the LSC and among the nation's best, allowing only 15.5 points per game over 48 games and excelling in categories like total defense and rushing defense.

Clark's extensive coaching background includes roles at Tarleton State, where he served as defensive line/special teams coordinator and assistant head coach, leading the team to a 12-1 record and a No. 4 national ranking. He also head-coached Western New Mexico, achieving significant success and ranking among the program's winningest coaches. His tenure at the Colorado School of Mines, St. Ambrose, and Graceland University further showcased his defensive acumen, with teams under his guidance consistently ranking high in defensive statistics and achieving conference championships. Clark's coaching career began at St. Ambrose University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's degree in organizational leadership.
