Alex Atkins- Gap Scheme Variation with Screens and Run Action

Description

In this course, Florida State Offensive Coordinator and OL Coach Alex Atkins shares the FSU Gap Scheme plays and variations including screens and run action passes off of their gap schemes.

In 2022, FSU led the country on the counter play in times called, rush yards, explosive plays, and yards before contact.  They excelled in all aspects of running the gap scheme plays.

Coach Atkins shares how and why they focused on using the gap scheme and its advantages against modern defensive techniques.

He defines physicality and explores why the counter scheme is so effective - from developing physicality to handling movement and taking advantage of the defense's keys. Learn how to utilize violent hands, maintain leverage, and master ball-man relationships as markers of physicality.

If you are looking to add the counter to your offense, then learning from the team that was the best at it is a good place to start.

Great explanation of gap scheme. Drills that transition directly to the game. I really like emphasis on watching his guys eyes during drills. Making sure they are looking at the next levels and not just doing a drill. His definition of Physical and what it looks like is golden!
