The BYU Offense took College Football by storm this past season. They did so by creating simple and more importantly fast decisions for their QB. Whether by formation or shifts/motions the BYU Offense always forced the defense to tip their hand. Paired with QB friendly designed schemes BYU was able to control the game with their bread n’ butter run scheme:The Wide Zone. We discuss not only the Wide Zone but how BYU protected and took advantage of defenses over pursuing their Wide Zone, creating a full system. The BYU Offense constantly complimented their schemes whether with the use of Play-Action or Window Dressing the Cougars constantly forced the defense to hesitate.
