Cody Baethke joined Coe College's football coaching staff in 2018 following a successful tenure as an assistant coach at Central College. During his time at Coe, Baethke has contributed to developing numerous standout players, including recipients of all-conference honors, a defensive player of the year, and a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award. The Kohawk defense, under Baethke's guidance, showcased strong performances, particularly in 2019 when they led the conference in several defensive categories such as scoring defense, third-down defense, and rushing defense. In 2021, despite a COVID-related hiatus, Coe's defense ranked third in the A-R-C, demonstrating Baethke's consistent impact on the team's defensive prowess.

As a former player at Central College, Baethke brings a wealth of experience and understanding of the game to his coaching role. His achievements as a player, including being a four-year letter winner and a three-time conference champion, reflect his dedication and passion for football. Baethke continues to contribute significantly to Coe College's football program while balancing his personal life with his wife Nichole and their children Aubrey, Aiden, and Bentley in Cedar Rapids.
