Cornerbacks Individual Drills

Description

Each position in football has its significance and contribution to the team. However, corners have a difficult task ahead of them on every snap. A cornerback has one of the toughest jobs in sports and one of the most difficult jobs in all of football.

To become an effective cornerback, a cornerback must have a wide range of skills, including anticipating quarterback signals, backpedaling, executing single and zone coverage, disrupting pass routes, block shedding, and tackling. In order to have such skills, you must first have speed, agility, and quickness to contain and cover the offense's fastest and most elusive players, the wide receivers. A poor cornerback will be exposed on every down and could ultimately cost the team the game.

In this course, Coach Cliff Odom takes us through the drills he incorporates into practice to give his cornerbacks a competitive edge. Everything from the team's philosophy to EDD’s (every day drills) to schemes and techniques is covered by Cliff Odom.
