Defensive Line Coach, Rice University

Eli Rasheed joined Rice in early 2026 after a decade as defensive line coach at Iowa State, where his linemen earned 26 All-Big 12 honors and produced two first-team All-Americans, JaQuan Bailey and Will McDonald IV, Iowa State's all-time sack leader. The Cyclones reached bowl games in eight of his final nine seasons in Ames.

Before Iowa State, Rasheed spent seven seasons under head coach Matt Campbell at Toledo, where the Rockets consistently ranked among the MAC's best in rushing and scoring defense across four bowl seasons. He began his coaching career in Florida at Venice and Booker High Schools before later coaching defensive tackles at Florida Atlantic.

A native of Indianapolis, Rasheed played defensive line at Indiana University from 1991 to 1995, appearing in bowl games in 1991 and 1993.
