Defensive Line Coach, TCU

Jamarcus McFarland joined the TCU staff in 2022 as defensive line coach and quickly helped guide the Horned Frogs to a College Football Playoff national championship appearance. Under his leadership, TCU has produced NFL talent and multiple All-Big 12 defensive linemen. Prior to TCU, McFarland spent three seasons at Stephen F. Austin, where he helped lead the Lumberjacks to a conference title, a national ranking, and an FCS playoff berth. A former All-Big 12 defensive lineman at Oklahoma, McFarland was part of three conference championship teams before beginning his coaching career. He and his wife, Shakila, are the proud parents of a son, Jamarcus Jr., a daughter, Savannah, and a three-month-old son, Jackson.

McFarland described himself as "a product of a Texas high school," having grown up in Lufkin, Texas, and credited his late high school coach, John Outlaw, as a formative influence on his coaching philosophy. He noted TCU signed 20 high school players in its 2026 recruiting class, all from Texas.
