Jim O'Neil - Defensive Coordinator - NorthWestern
In February of 2021, Jim O'Neil was named Northwestern's defensive coordinator. Formerly with the Las Vegas Raiders in the National Football League, O'Neil joins the Wildcats for his first season as a Wildcat. The Raiders hired O'Neil in 2016 after he served as defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns (2014-15) and San Francisco 49ers (2014-15). Bringing over a decade of experience in NFL coaching to Evanston, he brings a wealth of knowledge. During his college career, O'Neil worked as a defensive graduate assistant at Northwestern University (2003-04) for two years before joining the NFL. Between 2006 and 2008, he was Eastern Michigan's safeties coach and recruiting coordinator.
