Joe Bowen is the Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach for the University at Buffalo Bulls football team. A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Bowen graduated from Miami University in 2015 with a degree in finance and a minor in coaching, later earning a master's degree in kinesiology and health in 2017. His coaching career includes positions at Michigan State, Florida State, and South Carolina, where he contributed to top defensive performances. In 2024, Bowen was honored as the FootballScoop Linebackers Coach of the Year, reflecting his expertise in building robust defenses and developing linebacker fundamentals.
