Spencer Brown - Linebacker Block Destruction

What is block destruction? Techniques used to avoid, defeat, and disengage from blocks. Regardless if a tackle has been made, it's important to never finish the play blocked. Linebackers' optimal tools for the job are their feet, hands, and eyes. There are three types of blocks, perimeter block, base block, and cut block. 

Cut block; Offensive linemen cut block by hitting a defensive player on the knees in an attempt to knock him down. Base block; As the offensive lineman moves away from the ball after snapping, the base block relies heavily on the player's strength and power to keep the defensive linemen at bay. Perimeter blocks are self-explanatory.
