Description

Running a passing game from empty provides many strategic advantages in attacking a defense IF it can be protected in a sound manner.  Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line Coach Joe Philbin has seen plenty of games from every level from the Friday night lights to Sunday afternoons.  Recently, he's watched several games at the Star in Frisco, Texas, right next to the Cowboys AT&T Stadium.

In watching those games he saw a need to create this presentation and share what he's learned over a 40 year career.  In this course, he covers every aspect of protecting the passer from 5-man empty protection.

Starting with the philosophy and general principles of pass protection, he focuses in on the 5-man protection scheme.  He shares why the use of this protection can provide advantages to an offense.

He delves into the principles in regard to assignment and technique and illustrates good and bad examples of empty protection with game film.  Through his detailed analysis, the assignments, footwork, and techniques become clear and allow you to walk away from this course with the knowledge you need to use 5-man empty protection or to make it more effective in your offense.
