Man Blocking Fundamentals And Techniques In The Run Game - Dan Larson

Description

In this comprehensive clinic, veteran offensive line coach Dan Larson details the core principles and techniques that underpin an effective run game built on man blocking schemes. Drawing from his experience and the Rams’ offensive philosophy, Coach Larson takes you through a progression of drills, game film, and teaching points designed to elevate individual and unit performance in the run game.

The course begins with foundational fundamentals and zone philosophy before transitioning into specific techniques like Tite Reach, wide reach, second-level blocking, vertical doubles, and Duo. Larson provides both conceptual understanding and on-field application through structured drills such as the Fit Drill and Blocks Drill. He closes with an in-depth look at Pin-Pull techniques—supported by detailed drill work and game film—to round out a complete guide to building a powerful and adaptable run-blocking unit.

Ideal for offensive line coaches at all levels, this clinic offers practical, implementable tools for mastering both zone and gap scheme techniques within a man-blocking framework.
