The Coach

Michael Patterson

Michael Patterson is the Assistant Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach at Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, Arizona. He has coached multiple positions on defense, including linebackers and defensive line, and plays a key role in developing one of the top high school programs competing in Arizona’s highest classification. Coach Patterson is also a USA Football Master Trainer, traveling nationally to certify coaches and teach tackling and player development techniques, and has been involved with USA Football programs for over a decade.

A former player who competed in both the United States and Mexico, Coach Patterson focuses on linebacker play, defensive structure, and player development. His teaching emphasizes reading keys, understanding backfield alignment, and using simple, repeatable drills to build fast, confident defenders who can execute against today’s RPO-heavy offenses.
