Rob Dvoracek is in his second season as Nebraska’s linebackers coach in 2024, following two years of coaching in the NFL and six of his eight seasons coaching under Matt Rhule. A promising young coach, Dvoracek has gained valuable experience at two Power Five programs and has been instrumental in program rebuilds, notably contributing to Baylor's transformation from a one-win season in 2017 to an 11-win season in 2019. In his first season at Nebraska in 2023, Dvoracek played a key role in significantly improving the team's defense, achieving their best rushing, total, and scoring defense metrics in the Big Ten era.

Under Dvoracek's guidance, Nebraska's linebackers were pivotal to the defense's success in 2023. The team ranked eighth nationally in rushing defense, allowing just 92.9 rushing yards per game, the fewest since 1999. They also ranked 14th in total defense and 17th in scoring defense, marking the highest national finishes since 2010 and 2011, respectively. Key linebackers like Luke Reimer, Javin Wright, John Bullock, and Nick Henrich made significant contributions, combining 191 tackles, 16.0 tackles for loss, and 9.0 sacks. True freshman Princewill Umanmielen also excelled, recording 22 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sacks.
