TEX-BONE Power Option

by Joe Austin

The Tex-Bone is triple option for the 21st century

Combines Traditional Option with Modern Spread in a Texas-sized offense that leaves defenses scrambling to cover it all

The TEX-BONE System is built upon the POWER OPTION play.  The TEX-BONE is the First Option System to use Power as its base scheme.

--> Creates Horizontal space across the line of scrimmage which creates large running lanes for dive back and a wider alley for the Quarterback.

--> Good vs every front;  RUN IT AGAINST ANYTHING ANYTIME.

--> Good against blitz.  NO CHECKS, EVER !!!  You can always run it the way it was called.

--> Rule based play.  Offensive players do not slow down if defense shifts.

--> Easily paired with play-action and other run plays...These have been around longer than Jon Gruden's "Spider 2Y Bananna!"

Very detailed and insightful. New way of looking at a classic run concept.

Absolutely love how simple Coach Austin breaks all this down. We don't even run the TEXBONE....but we are adding this to our spread attack because we need a more powerful running game. Can't believe this course was only 20 bucks!

A college coach that makes this so simple. Added an option component to the I-back Power concept. 3 different ways to kick out and 2 variations to wrapping the pulling backside Guard.

Option off of Power. Amazing. For a college coach, he sure did make it very easy to understand.

Never thought of running option off the Power Play. Coach Austin does great job explaining how he runs it vs any front & any blitz. His Powerpoints are very clean and game film is High Def

The Power play has been a tradition headache for defenses. To put it in a triple option play - out of spread . . . Innovative. Can see this adding real punch to spread offenses that may not necessarily have the big hogs up front to give it. Great course!
